Post Scriptum

 

Ich moechte mich hiermit rechtherzlich bei meinen Lesern bedanken, die mein kleines Abenteuer im Himalaya mitverfolgt haben. Meine Seite wurde allein im April 1030 mal angeklickt von euch, oefters als je zuvor. Ich hoffe euch hat meine kleine Expedition und deren Bericht gefallen.

Ich moechte aber nochmal darauf hinweisen (da ich es bewusst nicht erwaehnt habe), dass Nepal dennoch ein Land ist, in dem ganz speziell die Armut extrem ist. Es gab hin und wieder Dinge zu sehen, die Unbehagen hervorgerufen haben.

Leider ist auch Kinderarbeit in Nepal ganz normal, was zum Teil sehr traurig ist.



Es gibt allerlei Hilfsorganisationen, allerdings sollte man sich im klaren sein, dass die Spenden nicht da ankommen, wo man es guten Willens glaubt.

Nepal oeffnete seine Tore erst in den 40er Jahren, zuvor galt es als "Verbotenes Reich". Somit ist der Tourismus in Nepal noch sehr jung.

Wer auch immer eine Reise nach Nepal vor hat, sollte sich bewusst sein dass es in jedem Fall ein Abenteuer wird.

Wer auch gerne mal eine Radtour in Nepal machen moechte, fuer den empfehle ich folgende Organisation: http://www.nepalmountainbike.com/ . Generell sollte man der englischen Sprache maechtig sein.

Die Landschaft in Nepal ist atemberaubend. Die gigantischen Berge haben mir grossen Respekt eingefloest. Man sollte sich bewusst sein, so schoen es auch ist, dass die Natur die Oberhand hat. Das Wetter kann binnen Minuten umschlagen. Was man nicht sieht, wenn man einen Berg von unten betrachtet: auf den Gipfeln dieser Berge haben sich zum Teil schaurige Dramen abgespielt, die zahlreiche Menschenleben gekostet haben.

Wer sich mehr fuer Bergexpeditionen im Himalaya interessiert, dem empfehle ich das Buch "Into thin air" - "In eisige Hoehen" von Jon Krakauer. Das Buch war weiterhin Quelle fuer die meisten meiner "schon gewusst" Beitraege und war ebenfalls Reiselektuere, neben "Der verlorene Horizont".

Ich hoffe dass ich hier bald wieder von einer meiner Reisen berichten kann, die hoffentlich genauso spannend wird. Meine Liste von Wunschzielen is ja noch lang.

To end my posts I would like to thank all my readers, for following my little adventure in the Himalaya Mountains. In April my page got 1030 hits, more than ever before.

I hope you enjoyed my expedition and its report.

However I would like to point one thing out, which I did not mention before (on purpose). Unfortunately poverty in Nepal is extreme and many things I came across caused me much discomfort. Also child labour is not uncommon in Nepal, which is really sad.

There are many charity organisations, however people should be aware because donations do not always reach the people who need it most…and donations may just disappear into the pockets of opportunists on the way to a good cause.

Nepal only opened its gates in the 1940s to foreigners, so tourism in Nepal is still very young. Those who would like to travel to Nepal, should be aware that this journey will definitely lead to an adventure.

The countryside in Nepal is breathtaking. I gained a new respect for the extremely high mountains. But you always have to be aware and remember that its nature that deals the last card. The weather is never constant and can change within minutes. Another important fact to remember is that there are always accidents on the mountains which have resulted in the deaths of many.

For those who are interested in the expedition stories that the Himalaya has to offer, I recommend the book “Into thin air” by Jon Krakauer. The book was the source for most of my “Did you know” facts, and kept occupied during my trip (beside “Lost Horizon”).

I look forward to writing again about one of my journeys, which hopefully will be as exciting as the one in Nepal. There are still a lot of destinations on my bucket list.
